So far the only provincial leader to take an interest in St. Catharines is Green Party Leader Frank De Jong.  Will any other leaders make their way to St. Catharines?  Not likely.  The St. Catharines riding is almost exclusively ontario liberal territory.

Jim Bradley was first elected in St. Catharines in 1977 and has served as MPP since that election.  Bradley has been the minister of the environment, is now minister of tourism, minister responsible for the Greenbelt, and is currently the Government House Leader.

What about the other candidates?  NDP candidate is Henry Bosch has been a paramedic for 22 years and served on the transit committee for St. Kitts.  PC candidate Bruce Tims currently serves St.Catharines as a Councillor on The Niagara Regional Council, and as Co-Chair of the Public Health-Social Services Committee.  Green Pary candidate Byrne Smith has worked in the health industry for childrens mental health and outreach services.

Thursday night from 7-9pm there is an all candidates meeting at the Parkway at Ontario Street.  It will most likely be televised on Cogeco. I’ll have to check it out and see if anyone brings forth any interesting issues.
